Goole Wellbeing Coordinator shortlisted for The Care Home Activity Organiser Award at the Great BritKim Quean, Wellbeing Coordinator, at HC-One’s Windsor Court care home in Goole, East Yorkshire, a 77-bed residential, nursing and residential dementia care home, has been shortlisted for The Care Home Activity Organiser Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the York and Humber region.

The nomination for the award is in recognition of her hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Kim shows every day to ensure the people she supports receive the best quality care.

Kim has been outstanding in her role as a wellbeing coordinator, bringing meaningful and positive changes to the wellbeing of our Residents since she joined HC-One company and Windsor Court care home. Her passion for wellbeing and quality of life has been shown in many ways: ranging from regularly implementing new innovative activities for the Residents at Windsor Court, to organising and facilitating area wellbeing meetings at her care home to support fellow wellbeing coordinators, to “bringing” seaside to the People at Windsor Court when they had no opportunities to visit seaside for themselves!

Quality of Life Specialist, Lawra Baumane, who nominated Kim for the award, said:
“There are some people who I meet that I can say, they have that special ‘magic touch’ when they engage those living with dementia and Kim is one of those few, whereby she adapts activities to deliver the best outcomes to meet the needs of everybody; taking into consideration Residents’ abilities, their background and their wishes. She thinks of everything and considers every little detail!

We are extremely fortunate to have her here at HC-One and I cannot wait to see her succeed in her role even more!”
