The staff and Residents at
Greenways Court in Consett, County Durham which offers residential and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, enjoyed making the most of the weather by having trips out to the Chester-le-Street park and Lintzford Garden Centre.
Colleagues did two trips in the minibus courtesy of Dave, the minibus driver and this meant both units got to go and enjoy a lovely walk around the park and breath in the fresh air.
Along the way, both staff and Residents laughed and, talked and reminisced about times gone by and everyone agreed it was lovely to have the minibus back and be able to get out and about.
The Residents enjoyed seeing the children playing in the park and the river and they love to get out and about as it stimulates them and gives them room for their thoughts.
David, one of the Residents, commented, “I could sit here all day, it’s just amazing”.
Then the Residents went for a trip out to Lintzford Garden Centre and had a look around the shop which had all the Christmas decorations on display which was so magical.
Afterwards the Residents chatted to their friends on what a lovely day they’d had and the Christmas decorations they had seen in the shop.
Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager said, “It is lovely to see the Residents making the most of the nice weather and enjoying their trips out”.
