Grimsby Wellbeing Coordinator shortlisted for Activity Coordinator Award at the Great British Care AHayley Sandison, Wellbeing Coordinator, at HC-One’s Clarendon Hall care home in Humberston, Grimsby a 49-bed residential and nursing care home, has been shortlisted for The Activity Coordinator Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the East Midlands region. 

The nomination for the award is in recognition of her hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Hayley shows every day to ensure the people she supports receive the best quality care.

Hayley ensures the activities she provides to Residents cover mind, body and soul and that Residents are fully included in the planning of the activities. 

Quality of Life Specialist, Lawra Baumane, who nominated Hayley for the award, said:
“Hayley looks at all aspects that affect our Residents, ensuring the activities cover mind, body and soul and are planned with the Residents. To cover body Hayley does chair based exercise, keep fit, relaxation, movement to music, table cricket, ball games and multi-games. Hayley gets the mind going by doing crafts, quizzes, Wii games, reminiscence, bingo, Play Your Cards Right, dominoes and Name That Tune. Looking at soul there are regular singalongs, monthly church services, live music, poetry, karaoke and reminiscence.”

Ann Harrington, a Resident at Clarendon Hall said:
“Hayley brightens up the room when she walks in, it is not long until people are smiling. I enjoy pamper Wednesdays and the effort that has been put in, not only through the last few months but always, it is appreciated.”

The Great British Care Awards consist of 21 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for the East Midlands region takes place at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham on Thursday 3rd November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the East Midlands regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.

In total six HC-One Colleagues have been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards in the East Midlands.
