This week at
Aspen Court in London, which offers residential dementia, nursing and nursing dementia care, Colleagues and Residents have been getting home ready for Halloween.
At the end of October, Aspen Court will host their own Halloween party to mark their excitement for the spooky day. Colleagues and Residents have been inventive in creating decorations that are to be placed around the home. They have made a range of different paper mache figures, mysterious item from clay and also carved out a range of different pumpkin faces. The main party room has been transformed into a chamber with amusing, yet frightful spirits such as witches and mummies, accompanied by several bats.
For the paper mache and clay activities, 4 Residents volunteered to assist with making these. They were used as additional decoration for the activities room and plan to have 8-10 Residents to attend the party.
Residents have expressed how much fun they had in preparing and decorating the home in anticipation for the party. One Resident said “oh wow the ball room looks really good and spooky!” while another said, “I love this time of year, all the scary décor and pumpkin carving.”
Mahendra, the Home Manager also commented on the decorations “I really like how the home has been decorated this year, Residents did so well with some designs and they look really happy and seemed to be enjoying themselves with it. I hope everybody enjoy the party later this month."
