Hartford Court go green to show their support for Macmillan Cancer SupportThe staff at Hartford Court in Cramlington, Northumberland which offers residential, day care and residential memory care, for those living with dementia, commenced their fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A number of staff which included kitchen, bus drivers deputy home manager and housekeeping were all sponsored to dye their hair green and some the Residents joined in to support them by going green for the day.

There was a ‘Go Green’ raffle which raised £71 and even had singer Christine Rosemound entertaining the
Residents and Day Centre clients in the afternoon.

The home has more events planned over the coming weeks including ‘Brave the Shave’ and a flavoured coffee tasting morning!

The final totals have not yet been counted as sponsor monies are still being collected.

The Residents really enjoyed the day, joining in with the songs they recognised.

One Resident commented, “What a lovely singer and what a lovely day”.

Staff remarked saying “Who knew green could look so good!” and “My new name is the Green Goddess!”.

Rachel Rennie-Doran, Care Home Manager said, “it was great to see everyone coming together and enjoyed raising monies for such a great cause.  Thank you to Danielle one of our Wellbeing Coordinators for organising the day”.
