Hatfield care home celebrate VE Day with a lovely afternoon teaResidents and Colleagues at HC-One’s St Christophers care home in Hatfield paid tribute to those who we lost during the campaign for Victory in Europe with a sing along, afternoon tea and more.

To celebrate VE Day Colleagues held a celebratory party. They sent out invites to the Residents and those that accepted arrived in the tea room to enjoy a tea dance. Residents listened to music from the 1940's and had a good old-fashioned sing song.

When Residents felt ready, they got up and danced the afternoon away to all the war time classics. The kitchen made a lovely buffet that was enjoyed by everyone.

After everyone ate, they listened to Churchill's Speech announcing that war was over. The tea room was decorated with bunting and victory posters and there was a folder with news clippings from the war which the Residents also enjoyed reading.

Resident Christopher said: “The music was lovely and I singing along.”

Located in a peaceful residential area of Hatfield in Hertfordshire, St. Christopher’s is a friendly care home with 163 beds, offering nursing and nursing dementia care.
