Over the last few weeks Colleagues at HC-One’s St Christophers care home in Hatfield have been running a pilot of a new 'Nutrition Station' at main meal times.
The Nutrition Station is a spread of all different foods and nutritious drink for Residents to independently choose in addition to the usual lunch service and to increase the calorie intake of some Residents. The tables are hosted by the kitchen and is currently running on all of the home’s communities.
It has proved very popular at the home and the Residents have really enjoyed trying different food and being able to see the choices they have in front of them has really been a win.
The colleagues who work in the kitchen at St Christopher's are very passionate about the Residents and have also said they liked hosting in the communities and presenting the dishes that they create to the people who are enjoying it.
St Christophers Home Manager Ioana Moraru-Manole said: “Seeing the Residents, especially in our harmony community, take such an interest and engaging with kitchen Colleagues was a pleasure.”
Located in a peaceful residential area of Hatfield in Hertfordshire,
St Christopher’s is a warm and welcoming residential care home with an experienced team of carers who offer a friendly and professional care service.
