The Harefield Care Home, run by HC-One, located in Harefield, Uxbridge, was delighted to welcome David Simmonds, MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, to participate in Care Home Open Week 2023.
Running from 26th June to 2nd July, Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care that is designed to connect care homes with their local communities.
The Harefield, a 40-bed nursing and nursing dementia care home run by HC-One, the UK’s leading care provider, was pleased to invite the wider Uxbridge community to learn more about life in the care home with its ‘Celebrating Together’ theme for 2023’s event.
Throughout the week, Residents, Colleagues, families and friends enjoyed a variety of fun-filled activities including a delicious barbecue, garden party, raffle and wonderful entertainment from local singer Eleanor who sang a whole host of golden oldies.
Reach Free Community School, Rickmansworth, sent a group of twelve pupils led by PE teacher Katie Townsend. The children had made the Residents little care packages involving activity booklets, little trinkets and inspirational messages, which the Residents found very touching. Parishioners from St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge also attended, led by Father Martin Davies.
Visitors also enjoyed a tour of The Harefield to see its facilities, activities and care services, and heard from the care team about the rewarding career opportunities in the care sector.
