Honiton care home Residents prepare for spring with flower arrangingGittisham Hill House care home, in Honiton, Devon, was kindly given the flowers which were from a late Resident David’s funeral. Therefore some of the ladies decided that it would be nice to flower arrange as part of a wellbeing activity.

Accompanied with a nice cup of tea and piece of cake, Residents Gloria, Helen, Barbara, Jean, Eileen, Maureen, Shirley, Jean and Toni (pictured)decided to make small decorations from the flowers. These were then going to be put in the dining room and around the home, for everyone to enjoy and to remember David.

The ladies from the 38-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, had a lovely time making the flower arrangements, talking about the flowers, which flower was their favourite and what they used to grow in their gardens. They then finished the afternoon off with a small glass of baileys.

Marie, Care Assistant and Isabella, Nurse, both enjoyed listening to the Residents who were chatting about the colours of the flowers and that they were enjoying each other’s company. One commented, “We all had a lovely time together.”

Julia Heneker, Care Home Manager, commented, “It was lovely to see all the ladies have a good chat and the flower arrangements that they made brightened the home up.”
