Horse racing afternoon at Worsley LodgeResidents at Manchester’s Worsley Lodge residential care home had a great time doing the horse racing game on the television this afternoon.

Those involved chose their jockeys and placed their bets with pretend money. And then they were off!

All the Residents were excited and cheering their chosen horses to go faster, the winners received the pretend money pot and a tub of sweets.

There was also a racing cake made to tie in with the activity (see pictured bottom left).

Residents particularly enjoyed placing their bets and shouting out their horse to win. One said, “What a good activity and it has been fun to play.”

Anne Bannon, Care Home Manager, commented, “It is nice to see Residents getting involved and having fun! They were laughing and really enjoyed themselves.”
