Ice-cream afternoon at Primrose HouseAt Haslington’s residential memory care and nursing memory care home, today it was Primrose House's ice-cream afternoon.

Pauline Roberts, Wellbeing Coordinator, had decorated a trolley and went around the home playing the sounds of an ice-cream van.  It was a lovely afternoon and the weather made the day even better.

There was a choice of ice-creams and toppings and the Residents all had a laugh when they heard the music and heard Pauline shouting "Ice-Creams!"

One resident commented on how the music took her back to when she used to wait in the street with her children for the ice-cream van.

Pauline commented, “The Residents had a lovely afternoon.  The ice-cream went down well but they all loved seeing and hearing the trolley.”

Alison, Home Manager, said, “Sometimes it is the small things that we do that make the difference. The Residents’ smiles said it all.”
