Laindon care home Residents get crafty for feathered friends
Residents at HC-One’s Oaklands care home enjoy regularly admiring the wildlife in the home’s garden, so much so that they decided to create their own bird boxes.

Two Residents, Michael and Jean, who are considered to be art enthusiasts, recently enjoyed building and creating the birdboxes, with help from Colleagues, before they then painted them with their own designs.

The pair thoroughly enjoy sitting in the garden and can think of nothing better than watching the wildlife, so this was an ideal project for them to undergo.

They enjoyed painting and decorating each bird box with bright and attractive colours to attract the birds, and enjoyed discussing their favourite type of birds during the activity.

Stephanie Massey, Home Manager, commented: “Michael and Jean have enjoyed this activity as they both really enjoy admiring the wildlife that surround the home’s garden. It’s nice to see them getting involved in this activity and we look forward to seeing the birds visit the bird boxes.”
