Residents at HC-One’s Airedale care home in Leeds are enjoying their new grotto in the homes garden, that was kindly revamped by a Residents daughter.
Brenda Holroyd, the daughter of Jean Crowhurst, has always looked for ways to spread a little happiness to Residents at Airedale. In the past, Brenda has made hampers, table centrepieces for special occasions, donated activity equipment and donated gifts to the home.
But, for Christmas this year, she went above and beyond and turned the homes new outdoor visiting space into a Christmas Grotto for the Residents to enjoy. Brenda also made individual floral centrepieces for each Resident to enjoy in their rooms.
“She must have been frozen spending all day out there but it looks lovely,” said one Airedale Resident.
Brenda came back a few weeks later to share her hard work a picture with her Mum following the good news of the lateral flow testing.
The home sent Brenda a lovely bouquet of flowers with the homes heartfelt thanks, with the Home Manager saying: “The renovation truly brightened up the staff and Residents spirits when they needed it the most.”
