Leicestershire Residents celebrate St Patricks DayThis week at The Willows in Hinckley, which provides residential and residential dementia care, Residents have been celebrating St. Patricks Day.

Both Residents and Colleagues helped with putting up some Irish decorations and all wore accessories that the wellbeing team had provided.

Later in the afternoon everybody got together in the lounge to watch Michael Flatley’s ‘Lord of the Dance’ which went down very well with all the Residents, some even tried out a couple of the moves themselves, but most agreed they would probably not be getting a call to theatre anytime soon!

In the evening Residents enjoyed their quiz, which was followed by some Irish music. Residents enjoyed having a couple of drinks and dancing along to some well-known Irish songs.

Residents mostly agreed they enjoyed seeing the Lord of the Dance the most, and Jackie, a Resident at The Willow went on to say, “I loved seeing Michael Flatley on the TV, I wish I had met him when I was younger.

Anna, the Home Manager commented, “It was lovely to see everybody up and dancing, I didn’t realise how popular Michael Flatley was!”
