Lunch in the sun for Hurst Cross ResidentsAt King Park care home, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Residents decided to make the most of the lovely summer weather. So, Colleagues arranged for them to have lunch in the sun on the patio.

Tables were set and the parasols were out too. Those who took part enjoyed summer music playing, and even a refreshing alcoholic beverage with their lunch too.

Staff and residents enjoyed a few laughs and giggles together and the day was enjoyed so much by all, that everyone decided they would have a second day out on the patio with a barbecue and ice-creams.

Barbara, who is a Resident at the 40-bed nursing dementia care home, said, “It’s so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves.”

Fellow Resident Hilary added, “Isn't it a beautiful day?"

Other Residents were also embracing the sunshine, with David commenting on how the flowers were amazing and Olive reminiscing about it feeling like she was on holiday.

Lisa Joy, Home Manager, commented, “What a lovely day! The Residents enjoyed the sunshine, flowers and alcoholic drinks on offer.”
