What a wonderful day at
Daneside Court residential and nursing care home, in Northwich, as they raised an amazing £100 to help support Macmillan’s Coffee and Cake afternoon.
The Residents and Wellbeing Coordinator, Sharon Lelonek, had been making fairy cakes with lots of chocolatey toppings and shortbread in their recent activity session, whilst the kitchen staff produced a humongous Victoria sponge.
Residents’ families got baking and made it cake heaven by producing homemade coffee and walnut cake, scones, fruit loaves, and more fairy cakes.
Douglas, who is a Resident at the home, thought it was a refreshing change to become involved in making the cakes for the event.
The event was set outside (pictured) and the weather, though a bit windy, remained dry and very sunny.
Sharon said, “It was a beautiful afternoon with music playing in the background and raffle tickets being sold.”
“Such a lovely occasion and one to be proud of. Our Residents were very pleased to hear the amount that we had raised, each and every one of us here at Daneside worked together and made the afternoon a great success.”
