Mad Hatters tea party for Hurst Hall ResidentsOn Tuesday 7th December, Hurst Hall care home, in Ashton-under-Lyne, which offers residential and residential memory care decided to have a get together in the form of a Christmas tea.

The themed party, based on Alice in Wonderland, was a perfect reason to get the party hats out to play.

Residents enjoyed looking through the box to see what hat they would like to wear, they all had fun deciding and made different character noise when the hat was worn.

The kitchen staff had been busy making cakes and creaming the scones. Wellbeing Colleague Una set up the tables and put music on, so all Residents could have a brew and a sing along.

Grace, who is 96 years old, commented, “This isn’t tea, but it’s nice to drink!”

Maureen stated that the afternoon was lovely, she had enjoyed herself and the cake was delicious.

Clair Dodd, Deputy Home Manager, said, “It seemed that all Residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The music and singing could be heard up the corridor!”
