On Wednesday 19th April, Chloe’s Mobile Farm visited Residents at HC-One's
Harnham Croft care home, in Salisbury, for what was a beautiful, sunny afternoon sitting on the patio with the company of lots of furry friends.
The mobile farm provides fun, educational and therapeutic sessions with farm animals, which has had a great, positive impact on Residents at the care home, who spent time reminiscing, chatting and learning about the animals and spending some good quality time together, it was a very inclusive activity, with all Residents able to take part.
There were lots of animals in attendance for the activity, including three rabbits, Snowy, Smokey and Mum, plus two lambs, Reggie and Ronnie, and two Donkeys, Norris and Norman. The Residents were in their element, holding the animals and chatting about the pets that they owned when they were young.
The lambs and rabbits also went round Residents’ bedrooms so that everyone could try the interactive animal experience. It was an amazing afternoon had by all.
Chloe, who owns the animals, said, “It’s been wonderful to be able to make a difference to the Residents, to bring along your ‘not every day’ animals, what a lovely afternoon!”
Betty, who lives at Harnham Croft, remarked, “I liked the rabbits, as it brought back memories of when I had a pet rabbit.”
Fellow Resident Marianne said, “I haven’t been at Harnham Croft for long and this is just amazing, to be able to go into the garden and there are animals for the afternoon! The lambs are so cure.”
Diana, pictured with one of the donkeys, said, “It was such a lovely afternoon out here with my children, seeing the donkeys and being able to touch them.”
Home Administrator, Paula, commented, “A lovely afternoon had by all and to see the little lamb wearing a nappy indoors was just the cutest!”
