The reception class from the local school Saint George's school, came to sing for the Residents at HC-One’s
Sandon House care home, in Mossley, Tameside, and even delivered some beautiful gifts!
The children had been busy making sunshine cards, pocket hugs and biscuits which they brought with them as gifts for Residents on the visit to the home on 9th February where they sang a selection of songs, which they had been learning at school.
After their beautiful singing, they played with the home’s activities props including inflatable balls, skittles, grass skirts, hats and oversized glasses which had been left over from past events. The children had lots of fun interacting with the Residents.
When the children had gone, everyone enjoyed the delicious biscuits along with a cup of tea (see pictured)
Hilda, who lives at the 42-bed residential and residential dementia care home, commented, “I love the children coming in to see us.”
Wellbeing Coordinator, Louise Schofield, said, “To see the smiles on the Residents’ faces was lovely to see.”
“We have invited the children back for a teddy bears picnic which we have planned.”
