Residents at HC-One’s Orchard Mews care home in Bentwell, Newcastle made their own pizzas from scratch on this year National Pizza Day and they were delicious.
On the 9th February, Residents got stuck in, shaping the dough and putting whatever toppings they wanted on to their pizza. Six Residents came together to make pizzas for the whole home.
"How much am I being paid for this?” joked Orchard Resident, Patricia Laughlin.
Resident Alan Dixon was very proud of the Pizza he made, so much so he posed for a lovely picture with it. The home has been trying to get more involved in days to help support Residents wellbeing through the pandemic with this week being National Pizza Day, it made sense to create personalised pizzas for all.
David Bell, wellbeing coordinator at Orchard Mews said: "The Residents seemed to be really happy that they'd help make their own tea.”
