The Great British Care Cycle Relay is a monumental cycling event that aims to raise awareness and shine a positive spotlight on the work of the social care sector in the United Kingdom. Each day, the relay will be split into three stages that are approximately 20 miles long. Each stage will start and end at a care home location. For the first time, the relay will feature a ‘Scottish leg’ the weekend of 22nd - 23rd June where a small group of riders will cover the distance from Gretna Green to Greater Manchester before handing over the baton to riders in the official Relay on Monday 24th.

Ed Maxfield, Director of Championing Social Care, said:

“At Acorn Meadow, we are looking forward to welcoming members of the local community to join in with our celebrations. The week provides a great opportunity to reinforce the great connection between our residents and home, and our local community.

“Care Home Open Week provides us with an opportunity to showcase our extensive facilities, activities, and services we have to offer, as well as help people to understand more about what a rewarding career in care looks like, which will help support our mission to be the first-choice care provider in our community.”
