Easter is a very important day in the calendar and Residents at HC-One’s Silverwood care home in Nottingham, which offers, residential, residental and nursing dementia care, really enjoy celebrating this very special time of year.
Some Residents at Silverwood even believe it’s more important than Christmas, and this year the local church called 'The Redeemer Church’ handed into Silverwood, eggs and cards for every Resident.
Colleagues at Silverwood decided to have a raffle for Residents, raising money for the Residents social fund. It’s been a tumultuous year so it was lovely for Residents and Colleagues to have an event in the home again.
Staff bought and sold tickets, leading up to the event, so on Monday 5th April, in the afternoon Colleagues made so lovely cake and supplied drinks for all the Residents who were donning on Easter hats.
And at 3.30pm Colleagues drew the winning tickets out. After lots of fun, the money was counted and Colleagues raised just over £170.00 for the Residents social fund.
