Alanah Graham, a Resident at HC-One’s Hillside View care home in Paisley expressed a wish to learn a new skill and have a job to keep her busy.
Having expressed an interest in hairdressing, Alanah was offered the opportunity to become the home’s hairdressing apprentice, she assists the home’s qualified hairdresser with a variety of tasks.
When the college reopen, Alanah will be attending one day a week to gain a formal qualification, in the meantime, she will continue to practice her new skills and has had offers from various members of the team to be her model for her hair treatments.
Hillside View Home Manager, Katy Jenks said: “Alanah is an inspiration, she is doing an amazing job and it’s wonderful to see her continue to pursue her dreams, we are all looking forward to supporting her on her education journey.”
