Pampering is precious for Manchester ResidentsNewton Heath Residents at Brookdale View residential and nursing care home, have been feeling very pampered with a nail care session today.

Some of the Residents, including Audrey Young (pictured), Ivy Bell (pictured), Cynthia Barton and Margaret Jackson, were used to monthly trips to the salon to be pampered, however due to the pandemic, this has not been possible for a long time! This only meant one thing... The salon had to be brought to Residents.

Colleagues have started a weekly pamper session at Brookdale View, where Residents can choose from an array of different coloured nail varnishes, and then sit back and relax while their nails are taken care of - everything from filing, shaping and painting!

To ensure the salon experience was enjoyed to the full, Colleagues put on some relaxing music while the Residents sat back and enjoyed. They really enjoy choosing their nail varnish colours as it felt like they were actually going to the salon!”

Audrey Young, who lives at the home, said, “Oh they look lovely, it has been ages since I have been able to get them done.”

Bethany Child, Wellbeing Coordinator, remarked, “It is lovely to see such big smiles on the Residents’ faces when they see their freshly painted nails.”
