Residents at
Greenways Court, care home in Consett, were excited to meet a fury friend earlier this week.
The 51-bed residential and residential care home were visited by Pat Dog Society who brought a gorgeous Irish Wolf Hound called Logan to visit the Residents.
PAT dogs are a therapy dog to enhance the wellbeing of many different people in many communities across the UK.
His owners called him a ‘gentle giant’ and have asked if they can bring him along on a regular basis.
The Residents loved Logan and were stroking and playing with him. It brightened many of the Residents days and are thrilled he will be coming to the care home more regularly.
Taylor, a Resident at the home, said, “I would love for him to come for another visit and I think it’s a good idea to have a PAT Dog.”
Another Resident, commented, “At first sight everyone said wow he’s big, then some reached out for a pat.”
Kinga Kowaliczek, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was lovely for the Residents to meet Logan and they are really excited for the next time he comes to visit.”
