Pet therapy for East Sussex ResidentsToday at Coppice Court in Eastbourne, which offers nursing and nursing memory care for those living with dementia Residents enjoyed some pet therapy.

Throughout the month, Coppice Court have been trying a new type of pet therapy which appears to be enjoyed by the Residents. As their pet pals are not able to visit currently, Residents have had the company of very life-like furry friends. They are groomed to a high standard and look very healthy. 

Pamela, a Resident at Coppice Court has named her cat “Mimi” – she said “I love spending time doing this, it’s really therapeutic, and most enjoyable”. 

Speaking with Colleagues after they said, “It’s important that the Residents continue to enjoy these types of activities, this is something a bit different, so we are happy its going so well”. Juliet, the Home manager continued on with this “I am so happy seeing our carers introducing new and interesting activities for the Residents, the pet therapy seems to have gone down well with everybody involved”.
