Platinum Jubilee celebrations at St James ParkOn Friday 3rd June, St James' Park residential and nursing care home celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a sing along, tea party, live accordion music and a visit from Her Majesty herself!

Wellbeing Coordinator Michaela Hunt, delighted Residents as she dressed up as Queen Elizabeth for the day and greeted many visitors on arrival to the home’s party.

The Bridport mayor, Ian Bark, took time out of his busy schedule to join Colleagues, Residents and Relatives in the celebration, including joining in with a sing along, touring the home, and unveiling a very special Platinum Jubilee artwork, which the Residents had made especially for this occasion.

Fred, who is a Resident, remarked, “I chatted with the mayor about the artwork, the food and music was very nice.”

Residents enjoyed also a wonderful party, catered for by Chef Antony, while listening to the live music, which was appreciated by all Residents, families and staff.

Joan, who lives at St James Park, said, “The party was lovely indoor and outdoor, mostly I loved the time spent in the garden.”

Fellow Resident Evelyn added, “The whole day was wonderful.”

Mihaela Barbulescu, Care Home Manager, commented, “An honest effort can bring a big achievement, today we proved it well. Many lovely events are yet to come.”
