Random Acts of Kindness Day at Dove CourtFriday 17th February marked Random Acts of Kindness Day and Dove Court care home, in Burnley, Lancashire, made a special effort to thank Colleagues and Residents for everything they do to make the 120-bed residential, nursing and dementia home a happy and kind place. 

Colleague Cath Marks and some Residents handed out sweets and chocolate to the staff team to say a big ‘thank you’ for all the work they do. Residents also thought of some nice words to say and wrote these down on cards for Colleagues to read (see pictured).

Maintenance Colleagues Harry Jackson and Martin Ingham were given a card which had, “Thank you Martin and Harry for looking after all the gardens at Dove Court.”

Sheila Tidswell held a card up which was given to her and said, “Thank you for helping me clean our budgie out.”

Audrey Drinkwater had a card especially for Colleagues which said, “Thank you, you make my nails lovely.”

Colleague Tracey Thomas was also given a thank you gift (see pictured). 

Many Residents commented that it was nice to get the chance to say ‘thank you’ to Colleagues. 

Catherine Brierley, Care Home Manager, commented, “A big thank you to all the staff for all their hard work.”
