Residents at HC-One’s
Melbury Court, residential and residential memory care home, in Durham celebrated Remembrance Day.
Residents helped to complete a lovely memorial service for the special day. They enjoyed making poppies to display in the main reception of the home. Residents joined in to make Remembrance Day one to remember!
All the Residents enjoyed arts and crafts throughout the week and enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst participating.
Residents made poppy garlands, knitted poppy badges and ‘Lest we forget’ posters.
A Resident, commented, “I enjoyed making this day as special as it could be, this is very important day and a day that should continue.”
Another Resident, added, “Lest we forget, forget shall I not.”
Care Home Manager, Bethany Morrow, said, “It was amazing to see so many Residents join in with this special day. It was so lovely to see the home scattered with poppies.”
