Residents at Blar Buidhe enjoy Local MP visitBlar Buidhe Care Home in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, was visited on 4th October by MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Angus Brendan MacNeil.

Residents and Colleagues of the HC-One owned home enjoyed meeting MP Angus Brendan MacNeil and chatting to him about what life is like at Blar Buidhe – which is an integral part of the local Stornoway community.

MP Angus Brendan MacNeil enjoyed a tour round the friendly 38-bed nursing and nursing dementia care home.

It was a lovely morning as MP Angus Brendan MacNeil spent time chatting with the Residents whilst enjoying a cup of coffee.

The Residents enjoyed chatting about living on the Isle of Lewis, and reminiscing on what life was like years ago. Many of the Residents enjoyed speaking with MP Angus Brendan MacNeil and he listened to all their lovely life stories. 

Colleagues at Blar Buidhe enjoyed chatting with MP Angus Brendan MacNeil about their roles in the home as well as chatting about the community in which they live and expressing their thoughts and feelings.

Resident, Dolina Macaskill, enjoyed speaking with MP Angus Brendan MacNeil, she stated:

“Oh it was lovely to meet and speak with you.”

Blar Buidhe, Care Home Manager, Donald McIntosh, said:

“It was lovely to meet Angus and a joy to see him interacting with our Residents.”

MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Angus Brendan MacNeil, remarked:

“It was lovely to visit the Residents at Blar Buidhe along with Michelle from my office. The oldest Resident I spoke to was 101!”
