Residents at
Defoe Court in Newton Aycliffe have recently enjoyed a lovely harvest service.
Before the service the Residents decided they wanted to take part in a crafting session and make a scarecrow.
The Residents helped each other to stuff the material to make the scarecrow and then pick out all the clothes.
Residents have also been collecting food donations from both visitors and staff over the past three weeks to make a huge donation to the food bank. They are very pleased with all the food they managed to collect.
The Reverend from St Clares Church came to the home and gave a lovely harvest service. It was beautiful and all the Residents really enjoyed it.
Gordon, one of the Residents, commented, “I have really enjoyed making the scarecrow it looks good. I also feel proud handing over the food donations.”
The Residents had such a lovely day and really enjoyed themselves.
Sarah Todd, Care Home Manager, commented, “We all really enjoy this time of year, the staff and Residents all working together. We always receive such lovely feedback from the community.”
