Wellbeing Coordinator, Ali, has been at it again making the days of so many Residents at River Court care home in Watford. This week she did something that little special.
Ali was trying to encourage residents including Wendy, of Gade House, to participate in the group activity. However, she politely declined so Ali got a little bit more creative, “I got some garden decorating sculptures and asked her if she would like to come in the garden with me. She instantly agreed and ran to her room to get her jacket. She was so jubilant and happy.”
Ali showed Wendy the incomplete herbs patch and requested her to decorate it with the sculptures. That's exactly what she did. She was completely dwelt in the activity and did her best to make the patch look good (which it certainly did). She also gave Ali some ideas on what they could do in the garden to make it look good for summertime.
“It was heart-warming to see Wendy so happy and honestly we would be doing our best to keep her like that,” Ali remarked, “It was extremely pleasant to see her so happy and involved in the activity provided.”
Wendy loved the whole experience of being given the responsibility of making the herbs patch look beautiful. She commented, “I loved the whole experience of being given a responsibility. Would love to be involved again.”
