Roxburgh House throw Platinum Jubilee party for Queen ElizabethA Platinum Jubilee party was held on 1st June at HC-One’s Roxburgh House care home, in Cradley Heath, which offers residential and residential dementia care, in honour of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne and all the Residents thoroughly enjoyed a brilliant celebration together.

Unfortunately, due to the typical British weather, the party had to be held indoors, but this didn’t take away from any of the fun, and a street party style event was thrown.

Everyone dressed in red, white and blue, representing the patriotic colours of the United Kingdom, and the home was dressed to the nines with flags, bunting and photos of the Queen. There was even a life-sized cut out of her, placed so that everyone could pose for a photo should they have wished.

Colleagues also organised for a singer to perform as the entertainment; everyone danced and had a great time.

Chef Louise created some amazing treats such as the Queen’s favourite chocolate biscuit cake and the Platinum Jubilee lemon and amaretti Swiss-role trifle.

Peter, who is a Resident at Roxburgh House, said, “The food was amazing!”

Home Manager Linda commented, “It was lovely to see everyone having such a good time.”
