Residents at
Snapethorpe Hall, residential and residential dementia care home, in Wakefield, had a lovely day celebrating a very special birthday.
Queen Elizabeth II was born 1926, on the 21st of April. She was born in Mayfair, London and took the throne in 1936.
The Residents gathered out on the patio for a lovely cream tea to celebrate Her Majesties 96th birthday. As well as the cream tea, the Residents enjoyed Victoria sponge cake, cupcakes and cream scones.
The sweet treats were thoroughly enjoyed by the Residents!
Some of the Residents are very interested in the Royal Family and loved having lots of conversations. They were reminiscing about the Queen’s other milestone birthdays and how they have celebrated.
One Resident, commented, “It was such a lovely afternoon celebrating such an important birthday!”
Gemma Leach, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It is really good to see people out in the fresh air enjoying each other’s company and hearing their stories!”
