Springtime decorating and afternoon walks for Chippenham ResidentsResidents at nursing and residential care home, Avon Court, have been getting fully immersed in spring by going on some nice afternoon walks and making some spring pictures to brighten up the home.

Today, Colleagues took six Residents out for an afternoon walk in the sunshine. They found a lovely spot overlooking the fields. On the way back, a lovely lady called Marjorie and her live-in carer, Dave, who were sat in the garden, were chatting to the Residents (socially distanced, of course) and showed them the beautiful garden. They also invited Residents and Colleagues for a cuppa when it is safe to do so, everyone thought it was a lovely gesture.

Irene Kirui, Care Home Manager, commented, “It’s lovely to meet people in the community and we look forward to seeing them in the future when it is safe to do so.”

With the sun shining and spring flowers in bloom, this got Residents in the mood for a bit of spring decorating. On Saturday Residents decided they wanted to decorate the conservatory with some bright, spring pictures.

Colleagues arranged for an activity to make some pictures of flowers, insects and birds, to coincide with the theme. Vera Benney and Mary Moseley, who live at Avon Court, both said it really cheered the place up.

Lyn Neate, who organised the activity, added, “We made head bands too, to wear for our ‘spring day’ which is coming up very soon.”
