Residents at HC-One’s Barleystone Court care home in Falkirk are thrilled to receive Christmas cards from schoolchildren all the way in France.
Home Manager, Pamela Cummings, was approached by an English teacher in France who asked if her pupils could send cards to the home’s Residents.
Of course, Barleystone Court were delighted to take part and Residents loved reading about the children’s stories, experiences and feelings about growing up in France.
Rena, a Resident at the home, said: “It was so nice of them to think of us.
“I can’t believe they’ve come all the way from France.”
Residents were surprised at how well the children could write in English and how lovely their handwriting was.
Pamela Cummings, Home Manager, said: “Some of the detail in these cards is amazing.
“There has been so much work put into them.
“We can’t wait to write back and say thank you, and this may be the start the of a long running project between Barleystone and the French children.”
