Sunderland care home supports local food bankResidents at Falstone Court care home in Roker, Sunderland have been giving a helping hand to the local food bank.

The foodbank has been amazing and offered to gift each of the Residents a Christmas gift of their choice. The Residents at Falstone Court thought it was a lovely gesture and wanted to do something nice in return.

Over the past few weeks both Residents and staff have been involved in collecting donations for the local foodbank Hebburn Helps. They collected toiletries and food.

On the 4th October the Wellbeing Coordinator and a few of the Residents went down to the foodbank and gave them all the donations they had collected on behalf of the community.

The CEO of Hebburn Helps was very happy and couldn’t thank the Residents enough for the donations. The expressed, “We can’t wait to see you all in December to give the Christmas gifts to your lovely Residents.”

All the Residents love helping out people in the local community and were really happy with the donations they made.

Julie Merritt, Care Home Manager, commented, “I am so proud of the staff and Residents for doing this. Well done!”
