This week Residents from HC-One’s
Swallownest care home, in Sheffield, journeyed out to attend a friendship lunch at one of the local pubs.
Linda Eyre, Betty Pallfreyman and Christopher Parker couldn’t wait to enjoy a lovely afternoon of amazing entertainment, delicious food and plenty of laughter amongst friends, and that’s exactly what they got! Service was great from all of the staff and the food certainly lived up to high hopes.
Whilst visiting, Linda was particularly amazed at the performer for the day, a pleasant young man named Oliver who had quite the name for himself, having a large fanbase of people who had come along to support him.
The group of fans, also known as ‘The Oliverettes’ welcomed Linda into their fan group with open arms, and even went as far as finding a spare Oliverettes t-shirt for Linda to have, see pictured, as she was so keen to get involved.
Linda commented on performer Oliver, who she was particularly fond of, “I love him!”
As well as being surrounded by lovely people, Residents from the 64-bed residential and nursing care home also had a couple of wins on the raffle that was taking place at the pub.
The Residents enjoyed being out, meeting new people and just having a laugh together somewhere nice, and the food of course!
Betty mentioned how lovely it was to do something a bit different to the norm, saying, “It can open you up to things you never knew you liked before.”
Jan Myers, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It really is wonderful to see our Residents going out to friendship lunches, they are always a wonderful experience for everyone.”
