Tameside care home Residents enjoy some festive funAt the beginning of December, it has been a week full of lots of group activities and one-to-one sessions at Fir Trees residential and residential memory care home, in Dukinfield.

As a group, Residents have been decorating gingerbread men, crafting paper Christmas decorations and painting Christmas suncatchers for bedrooms.

Dorothy, who lives at the home, remarked, “I've given my gingerbread man a bow tie, what do you think?”

Fellow Resident Cath added, “I love Christmas!”

Although most Residents enjoy the group activities, some Residents enjoy having dedicated time just for them. Therefore, this week, all have enjoyed a one-to-one with a Colleague. During the discussions they have begun planning together trips for the new year. The Residents would love to go to either the theatre or cinema.

Residents have also enjoyed a pamper or two and laughed together over hot chocolate.

Wellbeing Coordinator Abby said, “We have had a lovely week making things and enjoying festive treats, it's important to keep spirits high.”
