Tameside centenarian celebrates her 100th birthdayAt the Millbrook residential care home, in Manchester, everyone got together and celebrated Bessie’s 100th birthday.

Colleagues decorated the dining room with balloons and banners before all sat down and had a buffet lunch to celebrate.

Bessie joined the care home earlier in the year and has made herself very comfortable.

She was joined earlier in the day by her daughter and son-in-law, then she re-joined other Residents in having lunch; with a cheeky tipple of prosecco

Bessie loved the décor, singing happy birthday and the cake. She remarked, “You should not have gone to all this trouble!”

Fellow Residents May and Jackie added, “She doesn’t look 100, does she?”

Claire Jones, Care Home Manager, commented, “Bessie has not stopped smiling since her birthday she really enjoyed her special day. 100 is a magnificent achievement.”
