The Orchard care home hosts a Mad Hatters Tea PartyResidents at The Orchard, nursing, and nursing dementia care home, in Clackmannanshire, have been having a magical celebration.

As HC-One hosted a magical tea trolley competition, the Residents chose to decorate using an Alice in Wonderland theme.

The kitchen staff made lots of themed cakes, there were a lot of details on both the cakes and some delicious cookies.

It was great fun for the Residents to take part in creating decoration and props for the party. The Residents took part in lots of crafts. They enjoyed decorating the Mad Hatters hat and colouring in pictures. The home contacted a local woodsman who printed out some teapots in MDF and the Residents had lots of fun painting them.

Some of the staff sang together along with the Residents, they didn’t have any microphones, so they used artificial flowers instead.

The Residents had such a lovely day, it was one to remember!

All the Residents enjoyed the music and dancing along with all the exciting arts and crafts.

Fiona Johnstone, Care Home Manager, remarked, “Great to see the Residents enjoying their tea party and the smiles on their faces, it was lovely and a great effort by all staff!”
