Residents at HC-One’s
Park House, residential and residential dementia care home, in Guisborough, have recently had some very special visitors.
The Residents were delighted recently to have the return of the friendship dogs at Park House, both Poppy and Harvey bring lots of joy to the Residents.
Poppy is a border terrier and Harvey is a black Labrador. Both of the dogs are owned by Andy, who is the representative for Wag & Co Friendship Dogs and both dogs know that they are here for a purpose to interact with the Residents.
It is great for the Residents to see the dogs, one Resident remarked, “Seeing the dogs is a joy, and it bring back memories from when I had dog of my own!”
A lot of the male Residents also take the opportunity to have a chat with Andy, football is a regular topic of discussion.
Julie Woods, Care Home Manager, added, “We really appreciate Andy taking the time to bring the dogs to come and see the Residents, they clearly enjoy it.”
