Two Residents at
Orchard Mews, residential, nursing and dementia care home, in Benwell, took on a new job role as wedding planners.
Margaret Locke and Jean Denholm have been very busy helping to plan Nicola Coulson, the Home Managers wedding.
The two ladies have had lots of fun discussing colour schemes, choice of flowers, flavours of cake, making sure that nothing has been forgotten.
The planning has been ongoing for several months debating types of cars and sending out the invitations. Nicola has been giving Margaret and Jean updates, bring in samples, photos and invitation for their thoughts and approvals.
As the two ladies have played such an important part in the lead up to the special day, it was only right that they were invited to the special day. They were absolutely over the moon.
Several days were spent planning the outfits, hats, organising transport. Both ladies made it to the special day along with fellow staff and Residents. They remarked, “I wouldn’t have missed it for the world, it has been amazing to help plan the wedding.”
Nicola had such a special day, she commented, “It absolutely made my heart burst that everyone worked to hard to make this happen, and that these special ladies could share our day.”
