Debbie White, Senior Home Manager, at HC-One’s Eastbourne House care home in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear a 67-bed residential and residential dementia care home, has been shortlisted for The Care Home Registered Manager Award Category at the Great British Care Awards 2022 for the North East region.
The nomination for the award is in recognition of her hard work and kind care shown to Residents, Relatives and Colleagues as well as the dedication and passion Debbie shows every day to ensure the people she supports receive the best quality care.
As Senior Home Manager, Debbie leads her team to be ‘as one’ and inspires them to be the best they can be, to ensure the team are knowledgeable and effective, and overall happy and want to come to work to deliver the best care. Throughout the pandemic, Debbie has been amazing. She has continued to ensure Relatives are involved in the care of their loved ones and has used innovative ways to do this - family inclusion has continued at the home on a regular basis. Debbie and her team continue to be motivated and committed to delivering the kindest care and ensuring Residents continued to enjoy their best life.
Area Director, Lynn Maddison, who nominated Debbie for the award, said:

Because of her leadership she has created something so special and unique, she has created an extended ‘family’ that includes the Relatives of the Residents who live in her home, she has created a culture of involvement where everyone is listened to and heard, where everyone has the opportunity to make choices and decisions regarding their ‘home’- where it is truly their home.”
The Great British Care Awards consist of 21 awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. The awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and are a celebration of distinction across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their area of work. The award ceremony of the Great British Care Awards 2022, Regional Awards for the North East region takes place at the Grand Hotel Gosforth Park, in Newcastle on Thursday 10th November 2022 when the winners will be announced. Successful winners at the North East regional awards will progress to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023 taking place on Friday 17th March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.
In total six HC-One Colleagues have been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards in the North East.
