Whittlesey Residents ponder the meaning of dignityResidents at The Gables care home in Cambridgeshire, which provides nursing and nursing dementia care, have been giving their explanations of what dignity means to them this week.

Vicky, the Home Manager at the Gables brought in a large tree wall sticker and some paper hands for Residents to write on. She gave them out and asked what their definition of dignity is and what it means to them.

Residents all chose their words they wanted on the hands and Vicky wrote them on the hands for them.

Derek, a Resident at The Gables wanted to sit under the tree to have his photo taken. He said that it was a really enjoyable activity and opened the door for some wonderful conversation amongst the Residents.

Vicky went on to say, “What a wonderful idea this was, some of the quotes on the tree are fantastic”.
