Yorkshire girl gifts handmade loom bands to Perth care home ColleaguesColleagues at HC-One’s Strathtay House care home in Perth recently received a lovely surprise from a complete stranger, who lived all the way in Yorkshire.

Emma Smith, who lives in Bradford, North Yorkshire, has been sending loom bands to care homes across Scotland during the coronavirus pandemic, to thank them for all their effort over the past six months.

Emma has sent loom bands to every home in Yorkshire and has now moved on to completing the same task in Scotland. Last week she sent bands to Strathtay House in Perth and Morag Shea, Strathtay’ s Home Manager, recently rang Emma to thank her and invite her to come and meet some of the staff.

Unfortunately, as Emma lives all the way in Bradford, she was unable to visit, but the home definitely plans to keep in touch as they thought it was such a lovely gesture.

Emma said: “I love making loom bands as it gives me something creative to do whilst I am at home.”

Morag Shea said: “It was lovely for the staff to receive a gift, especially from someone who does not have a link to the home and to be appreciated.”
