90th birthday celebrations at Dundee care homeA Resident at HC-One’s Riverside View care home in Dundee celebrated a big birthday during lockdown and the staff made it extra special for him.

Stewart Hutton turned 90 years old on 4th July 2020 during lockdown so it was uncertain that he was going to be able to be visited by his family. However, Colleagues at the home brought in extra precautions and set up a window visit with Stewarts family members so they could send him their best wishes and wish him a happy birthday.

Colleagues at Riverside View also organised a small party for Stewart in the afternoon that was attended by his fellow Residents. A small buffet was put on for Residents, including tea, coffee, juice and some alcohol to choose from. Stewart was then presented with his 90th birthday cake which he loved.

Stewart Hutton, a Riverside View Resident said: “Can’t thank the staff enough for how special they have made me feel. Thank you for making it so special.”

Lockdown measures meant it was hard for Stewart to celebrate his birthday properly with his family, but staff went that extra bit further to make it happen.

Riverside View Home Manager, Lynsey Robbie said: “All staff really enjoyed helping Stewart celebrate his birthday in the best way he could to be able to include his family.”
