People at HC-One’s Sheffield residential and nursing care home, Swallownest, located in Sheffield, have loved taking part in the annual Grand National sweepstake. Quite a few of the Residents and Colleagues enjoyed having a go, using the home’s makeshift betting office (see pictured right).
Everyone enjoyed watching the Grand National, which caused quite a stir with plenty of shouting at the TV, all in good fun of course. It created a really nice, joyful atmosphere in the lounge as everyone jeered their horse on.
Terry Holt, pictured bottom left, came second in the sweepstake and told Colleagues he was very pleased to receive his winnings.
Diane, a member of the kitchen team also won, as well as fellow Colleague Tracey Irek, pictured top left, who said it was the first time ever she had won on the race.
Home Manager, Amanda Fields, commented, “I loved listening to the banter between staff and Residents as they all hoped they would win.”
