A busy week for Kings Park ResidentsMarch has been very busy at HC-One’s Ashton-under-Lyne care home, Kings Park, with Residents not only celebrating Mother’s Day, but also the introduction of new visiting.

On Sunday, all Residents received a card and were invited to reminisce about the people in their lives who should be celebrated on Mother’s Day.

Residents enjoyed telling stories of the time they spent with their own mothers, aunts, sisters, daughters and wives.

Following on, each Resident planted a variety of sunflower seeds which they hope will brighten up the home’s patio area come the summer months.

In the afternoon, a tea was enjoyed by all, served from a beautifully set up tea trolley which was organised by the kitchen Colleagues (and the cream cakes went down a treat!)

Michael Davies, a Resident at Kings Park, enjoyed sharing memories of gardening in the conservatory with his mother.

Home Manager, Lisa Joy, commented, “Everyone had a lovely day. All the mums enjoyed opening their gifts and certainly enjoyed the cream cakes too!”

Also, this week, Residents have been enjoying their first face to face visits with their loved ones since the new government changes came into place. It was an emotional time for all involved and so long awaited. Each Relative/visitor was greeted with a welcome gift bag from the home.

Len, who lives at the home, was over the moon to see his Relative, “I can’t believe Edna is really here.”

Lisa added, “It was lovely having the Relatives back in the home, it was a very emotional day for all!”
