Residents at HC-One’s Blar Buidhe care home in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis are embarking on a culinary experience which will take them around the globe.
The experience aims to broaden the mind and taste buds, with each month focussing on a different country to sample traditional dishes and discover more about their culture.
Residents have started their experience with a trip to China, the team transformed the dining room into a beautiful Chinese restaurant while the kitchen team prepared a banquet of traditional Chinese dishes for Residents to try.
Fortune cookies were opened by everyone, with Resident’s sharing their fortunes with each other. A great time was had by all, with Residents commenting that they are looking forward to learning more about China throughout the month before heading to their next destination.
Blar Buidhe Home Manager, Donald McIntosh said: “I am pleased that our Residents are enjoying the start of our Around the World experience, I look forward to seeing where we are going to be next month.”
Located on Simon’s Road, Blar Buidhe care home offers long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen on the Isle of Lewis that require nursing care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
